April 21 - New Affiliate Schools
The new affialiate school directors were selected from more than 100 applicants.
April 20 - Forms Seminar
On April 20th, Mr. Kim conducted a forms seminar at the Korea school.
April 11 - Kukkiwon Plaque of Appreciation
On April 11th, Mr. Kim received a Plaque of Appreciation from Mr. W.S. Kang, president of Kukkiwon Taekwondo work headquarters.

Visiting Instructors
Instructor Han and Instructor Yoon will be at the Boston school for training from February 28th until March 17th. Instructor Han will be teaching at the Korea branch, and Instructor Yoon is planning to open our 3rd branch in Shanghai. Instructor Yoon has been teaching at our branch schools in Korea and Singapore for the past five years.

2012 Year End Luncheon

Kukkiwon Seminar
Mr. Kim was invited by Kukkiwon (Taekwondo World Headquarters) to speak to more than 500 Taekwondo school directors and instructors at the first Kukkiwon seminar of its kind held in Seoul, South Korea on the future direction of Taekwondo around the world.

SBS Network Visit
SBS TV, a major TV network in Korea (similar to ABC, CBS and NBC in the US) selected our school as one of the schools to be featured in a documentary about Taekwon-do, based on the recommendation from Kukkiwon world headquarters. The SBS team visited our Korea branch on August 27th, and the Boston headquarters on September 7th. They videotaped our classes and interviewed a number of students at the two locations. The documentary aired initially in Korea on September 15th at 6:15 pm Boston time.

Children's Tournament
Children from our schools in Boston, Cambridge, Quincy, Newton, Ashland and Seattle competed in 13 divisions. It was a great learning experience for the children, and a great deal of fun for everyone at the event.

Peter And Krystyna Visit Our Korea Branch
Peter and Krystyna from our Boston school visited our Korea branch this month. Students at our Korea school were impressed with their performances in Forms and Full Range Sparring.

Instructor McSweeney, head of our branch school in Ireland, visited our Boston Headquarters June 14th - June 17th.

Congratulations to Tukrong Kg, Sara Gussin & Santiago Diaz for tying for first place in our 20 Days of Taekwon-do in January Challenege! 31 students won a free uniform from our Boston school alone.

Mr. Kim Conducts Korea Taekwondo Association Seminar
The Korea Taekwondo Association (KTA) asked Mr. Kim to conduct a seminar for 100 school owners in Korea. The seminar was held on September 3rd, 2011 at the Korea National Sports University. The seminar facility could only hold 100 people, but 124 school owners crammed into the room, many of whom had to stand during the seminar. It is yet another indication of the respect Mr. Kim has in the Taekwon-do communities around the world.

Dragon Boat Festival
On June 12th, our Demonstration Team performed at the Dragon Boat Festival by the Charles River.
Hanmadang 2011
On June 4, 2011, members of our community came together to attend the 2011 Hanmadang festival. Festivities commenced with performances from branch schools in the Greater Boston area. Upon conclusion of the event, long time member Marilyn Hershfield was presented with an Honorary Black Belt for her continuous dedication.

Shanghai Update
New members are joining our Shanghai school everyday. It is interesting to see so many White Belts in each class. Our Shanghai school is going to be a huge success.

Grand Master Kim Visits Singapore & Korea
In April 2011, Mr. Kim traveled to our Singapore and Korea branch schools to conduct special seminars. Instructors and students traveled from all over the world to attend the events.

In March, many of our students came together to participate in the Fitness Challenge. Congratulations to Jen Del Giorno and Andreas Hofmann, the winners of the push-ups championship!

Forms Seminar in Cork, Ireland
Jinyan Du conducted Forms classes for our affiliate school in Cork, Ireland on February 19th and 20th. Everyone loved the classes. We plan to send more students to conduct or participate in seminars at overseas locations in the future.

Korea Seminar
Mr. Kim visited our Korea branch in early November. He had visitors from Kukkiwon, the Korea Taekwon-do Association, and instructors from all over Korea who came to see him give a brief seminar on his teaching methods.

Seattle 5th Anniversary Celebration
On October 23rd, Mr. Kim visited Seattle for the 5th Anniversary of our Seattle branch school. Santos and Arlene Rivas, who run our Singapore branches, also attended the celebration.

Any members interested in joining the Jae H. Kim Full Range Sparring Team, practices are held at the following times:
Sundays (10a - 12 Noon)
Wednesdays (7:30p - 9p)
Fridays (5:30p - 6:30p & 7:30p - 9p)
